How do I peronalize my auto-response message?

You can include field values from your form inside your auto-response message by putting them in-between % signs to personalize your message. Like this for example:

Hello %first_name% %last_name%,

We have recieved your query and we will respond back to you shortly. For your record here is the copy of the message you submitted:

Best Regards

On form submission the variables %first_name%, %last_name% and %message% will get replaced by the respective values of form fields first_name, last_name and message.

There was some configuration error in the auto-responder settings. We have corrected it now. Please check again..

The autoresponder still isn't working and I've tried using 3 different email addresses

I have just now tested your form and I immediately received the auto-responder e-mail. Sometimes e-mails can take upto 10-20 minutes to reach the other end.

Thanks... your post on the autoresponder thing had us worried... seems to be delayed on the sending of the information to the our email address too but we'll continue to check over the next 10-20 minutes to find it. The simpler forms seem to send us an email nearly immediately; We're guessing it has something to do with the number of fields?

You Provide a Great Service... we're planning to upgrade soon to your PLUS service and are looking forward to any new features as you implement them.

my auto message is not recognizing when i hit the "Enter" key & thus instead of reading properly, it appears as one huge run-on paragraph.
what might i Be doing incorrectly?

You are probably providing a plain text auto-reply message but using HTML format in the settings of the auto-responder.

I included the field value %first_name% in my autoresponder message, but when I tested it, it does not add the firstname rather it left it as %first_name%. What ca I do?

Your form doesn't have any "first_name" question. Instead of that you can use: %Name:% as per your form.

Thank you Admin for your prompt attention.

The %Name% worked perfectly well.

Thank you once again.

I notice that if I leave the message field blank for the autoresponse email, it shows all the fields of the form. This is great!

However, is there a way to add some custom text to the message field and still have all the form field information automatically displayed?

I am afraid there is no easy way to embed the whole form-mail in the auto-responder message at present. You will have to reconstruct it using form variables. That is only way you can have a totally customized thank you email.

Thank you admin, this worked perfectly for me, too.

You gave great service!

How do I go about finding the form variables for the custome fields I've included in my form?

You will have to investigate the html source code of your form page. Each input field in a form has a name attribute. For example a textbox is represented using following tag:

<input type="text" name="first_name" size="20">

Here the name of this field is: first_name and thus the variable to be included in the auto-responder message would be: %{first_name}%

Likewise a drop-down menu is represented using a "select" tag:

<select size="1" name="your_country">

For this field the variable would be: %{your_country}%

we have the following form embedded in our website. However the staff member has left and we do not know how to update the details. I am not in the least technically minded, so can anyone explain to me in idiot's terms how to alter the response message and destination the enquiries go to please?
